Eremophila glabra is a variable shrub with forms varying from 60cm tall to twice that in height and 1 - 3m in width. The shrub is quick growing and should be pruned.

The leaves are an attractive silver-green. Despite it's name, glabra which means smooth without hairs, there are some attractive hairy leaved forms.

Flowers, up to 3 cm long, are orange, yellow, green or red and appear for most of the year. Honeyeaters find the flowers a useful food source.

This plant is frost hardy and considered hardy in general. It will tolerate dappled shade but prefers a sunny well drained position on loam, clay or sand. It is drought and moderately frost tolerant and survives on a wide range of pH.

Eremophila glabra is suitable for rockeries and small gardens in inland and coastal positions, as well as the Adelaide Hills and Plains.
